B1 – Electron

Highlight of the fast-paced parkour aspect of the game.

B1 – Electron is a puzzle platformer focusing on a ball that assumes the role of an electron.

The player must collect energy from outlets, and transfer it to conduits in order to progress through each part of the scattered laboratory that they find themselves in.

Each time the player dies, a new ball takes their place, incrementing the title screen to B2, B3, etc.

Speed-Running Elements

Player is shown using a mix of jumps and braking in order to precisely hop between platforms.

The player can only jump when they have charge.

Speed is encouraged, but slower, less efficient paths are available for those who prefer a lower difficulty.

Player charges a conduit to spawn and collect a checkpoint item.
Player attempts finds conduits, gains charge, and subsequently powers them to open a door.

Conduits are square tiles with a hexagon inlaid.

The player must transfer charge to these conduits in order to power various features of the environment, such as doors.

Pickups are diamond shaped items that can be found throughout the environment.

Each one found increases the player’s score, and acts as a checkpoint, saving their progress, incase they quit or fail parkour.

Player returns through a previously opened door via an override trigger.

In order to prevent the player from getting stuck, they are able to open doors from the opposite side by passing charge to their panel.

This only works on the side without conduits, or doors that don’t have conduits attached.
